A simple restoration will not be able to fix a severe decay tooth, periodontal disease, or tooth extraction is inevitable due to other reasons. The missing teeth need replacement with prosthodontics teeth. When tooth has been missing for a long time, both esthetic and occlusal defects will become noticeable. The space needs to be restored with a prosthodontics to regain tooth alignment, esthetic, mastication, and phonation.
Prosthodontics can be classified into two categories
1. Fixed partial denture: it is fixed and it consists of crown and bridge.
2. Removable partial denture: it can be removed by patient
3. Dental implant: the missing tooth area is placed with biocompatible material, titanium, dental implant until osteointegration completes. Both esthetic and function of dentition are restored; mastication and phonation are improved as well.
